The past week has been a good one. Here’s the lowdown on what I did after school in the past week:
Tuesday – nothing particularly interesting. I went to a career fair with my roommate for the free stuff, then we made breakfast for dinner and then I did homework and we watched “American Idol.”
Wednesday – I ran some errands and then Troy Ferguson came over (we went to high school together). It was really fun. We made dinner, and then hung out, made cookies, went grocery shopping, and caught up on each others’ lives. I was excited to see that he’s doing so well.
Thursday – It was Valentine’s Day, so I went to an “un-valentines” party. We watched “Sixth Sense” and hung out. Lots of girls and boys and treats and conversation hearts. After the movie we took a break and made stories using our conversation hearts. It was totally awesome. However, we did have to alter some of them by way of a ball-point pen… After that we watched “Hot Rod”. It’s just so quotable
Friday – Humor U (a stand-up comedy group from BYU) came and performed for us, and I was in charge. So I met them as they got into town and showed them where they were performing and then changed my clothes and drove to Nampa to Dave-Dave’s reception. I was only there for a minute, but I was glad that I went. It meant a lot to him. I hurried back to Boise after that and went to the comedy show. Afterwards, I had scheduled a dance, so I ushered everyone over to the church and we all danced for 2 hours. It was pretty fun, but I was so tired.
Saturday – I got up and went to my art class and then to work. When I got off work, I came home and watched “Memoirs of a Geisha” until one of the girls in our ward came over. She works for Mary Kay and wanted to give us some free makeovers. So we let her. The mask step is of the makeover is pictured. After we finished, I was supposed to go ice-skating, but I was tired and sore and lazy, so I stayed home with my roommates. It was very relaxing.
Sunday – I went to my ward for Sacrament Meeting and Sunday school, and then went to my friend Ryan Wight’s farewell. He’s leaving for Canada in 8 days. Pretty sweet. It was fun to see some of my old friends again too. Then I came home and made orange rolls and watched a little bit of “The Wizard of Oz” until I went to Ryan’s piano recital. I swear, he has magic fingers. He makes it look effortless. Just as he finished, I had to go over to the stake center for a fireside. The temple president spoke. It was really good. After that, my buddy Dave called and wanted my roommate and me to come over and hang out for a bit. So we headed over there without going home first. Unbeknownst to me, however, my friend Stephan had come up from Utah to surprise me and had been waiting at my house for half and hour by the time the fireside got over. You can imagine how disappointed he was when he called and found out I was in Eagle. I ruined his surprise. I felt like a bad friend. Oh well. My roommate and I hung out at Dave’s and watched “The Italian Job” and then went home and went to bed.
Monday – It was a holiday and so I didn’t have school. I was the first day I hadn’t woken up to an alarm since school started. I did some homework until Stephan called and wanted me to come to the church with him to critique his choreography. It was pretty cool. He’s definitely improving. I came back and did some more homework, then changed my clothes and met up with my ward to go sledding. It was pretty fun, but it hadn’t snowed for a few days, so the snow was really hard and iced-over. I flew off the sled at one time, and now have what looks like a rug burn on my back. It’s pretty painful. On the way back from that, my buddy Aaron called me and invited me to dinner. So I showered and drove over to his house. He made us meatloaf and such and we watched “No Reservations”. It was fun. He’s a pretty good cook as well. I left a little before the movie ended because I had to meet my ward at the movie theater so we could all go see “Enchanted”. I had already seen it, but you watch it with different eyes when you’re sitting between two guys from your ward. Once that ended, I made an appearance at Landon Grange’s party. He was having a bonfire and we were all hanging out and Landon and I shared gossip (it was his idea, I swear!). Then I went home and did homework before going to bed.
Tuesday – This brings us to today. I went to the temple this morning with all 3 of my roommates. It’s the first time since we’ve lived together that we’ve gone as an apartment to do baptisms. It was really cool. I came back and got ready for school, then went to class. We had a test and then discussed salads and salad dressings and mayonnaise. Pretty intense, let me tell you. Then off to kitchen lab to make vinaigrettes and spiced pecans. After school ended, I packed up my stuff and drove to Horseshoe Bend. When I arrived, there was an uncut, uneaten, warm pizza sitting on the counter just calling my name. So, naturally, since I had no intention of sharing, I just started eating the whole thing(as is evident by the picture). When Derek and Dillon walked and, though appalled at the sight, demanded to have a bite. It was quite disgusting. Disgustingly awesome! I pretty much rule.

So I figured I'd update you on my life, since it has changed drastically this past week. Sunday I went to my ward for what felt like the first time in forever. Then we invited one of the new girls in our ward over from lunch. After she left, I started making treats for the fireside. Pretty sweet. I made these pecan pie cookies. They were just ok I thought. The fireside went well and then I came back and chilled.
On Monday we didn't have any school, so I took advantage of my last day of freedom by being incredibly lazy. I showered and had a meeting with my vice-chairperson and ran a bunch of errands and got ready for school. That night for FHE we fingerpainted and then my roommates and two of the guys in our ward, and I went swimming. Totally sweet.
Tuesday was my first day of culinary arts school. It was pretty good, but a lot of busywork and it's 7:40-3:30 M-F. It's way intense. That day we didn't really cook anything, learned the basics. That night I came home and started doing my homework and reading my assignments for the next day in my textbook entiltled, "On Cooking." It made me really hungry. Luckily, my buddy Dave called me up and invited me to join him while he went to Mongolian BBQ. It was pretty tasty. Then Dave and I went to Institute Choir and I must've been really tired. I was in such a weird mood.
Wednesday after my initial culinary foundations class, we dove right in and started cooking. They gave us three recipes and expected us to make them in the allotted time. Thank goodness I was paired up with a guy who had been there before, or else I wouldn't have known where to find anything. After that I came home and played scrabble with my roommate Madi's now ex-boyfriend. I won. He "needed someone to talk to" so he came over and I tried to comfort him and help him in any way I could. I think I may have convinced him to go on a mission. After he left, my roommate Ashley came home and we were starving and I didn't feel like waiting for something to cook, so we went and got a pizza. Then we played scrabble. I won.
Thursday in lab I made some tuscan white bean salad and a corn and tomato salad. Let me tell you what, my life's tough! And poor us, we have to sample everything before we serve it. Que triste! Anyway, it's pretty fun. I came home and immediatley started doing my homework so I could have time to go to the BSU vs. Hawaii basketball game. Tim Welch came over and we walked over there together and sat with the rest of the Mormon students who came. It was a party and we totally schooled Hawaii, 95-77. Then we all went to Carl's Jr. to get a free hamburger and hang out and such.
Fridays are my early day. I got up at 5am and got ready to go to committee meetings. I went to my 6am meeting, and then conducted my 7am meeting, and at 7:30 had to leave for class, so my vice-chair took over for the next half hour. My first class of the day was pretty ridiculous. We were learning how to double recipes or cut them in half, or take 2/3 of the recipe, and such. Ridiculous stuff that I can do in my head. I was so bored. Then in lab, we didn't need to cook anything, so we spent the entire class deep-cleaning the kitchen. Pretty sweet. Then I went to sanitation and learned the proper way to wash your hands. I came home and made some brownies and then flipped through tv channels until my roommate Ashley finished her book and agreed to take me/come with me to Dave's house party. We went over there and chilled and watched "Game Plan". We were pleasantly surprised by the movie selection, considering Dave's parties rarely involve PG movies. It was pretty cheesy, but kinda cute.
This morning I had Art 100 at 8am and I think I'm really going to like that class. I got home early, so my roommate Tressie and I went over and helped our ward clean the church. We came home and I showered, then felt the urge to fix my roommate's hair. It was pretty cool and then I gave her some clothes to wear. Too bad she doesn't have anyone to show it off to. We went to Wal-mart and picked up some groceries and came home and had lunch. I came to the library after I finished eating and I'm about to leave and go make dinner. I've been here a long time. I'm making manicotti for dinner. Yum!

Hey fambly! Sorry I never write. I don't really have access to a computer unless I'm at home. Not much has been up with me. Let's see if I can answer all the questions that I think you guys would ask me if we ever talked:
Am I dating anyone?
No, just hanging out, etc.
Do I go on dates?
Yes. The other day my buddy Juan showed up at my work and said he wanted to take me out to dinner. That was pretty fun.
When am I getting married?
As soon as I can find a guy who fits the criteria that Haley said he should have. Ask her. She told me what my husband is going to be like. It was pretty fun.
Am I going on a mission?
Not unless the Lord changes His mind and I get some revelation that I'm supposed to go.
What's my plan?
I plan to attend Culinary Arts school at BSU for the next 3 semesters, after which I will have an Associates Degree and will do an internship and then open a bakery probably in Boise.
Am I selling for Joel this summer?
Heck yes! And I'm trying to find him some recruits and get geared up to make tons for both him and me!
How come I never call you?
I don't really call anyone. Unless I need a favor or have a specific question to ask, I pretty much wait for the parties to come to me and depend on Dad to keep me updated on the family. Sorry.
What have I been doing with my life lately?
Working sometimes; hanging out with my friends and roommates when I'm not at home chilling with the fam; working out at the gym a little. I ran 3.5 miles the other day. Too bad I'm still fat.
Why don't I do something about my being fat?
I like to cook and I like to eat what I cook. I have made some amazing dishes lately. Just ask my roommates.
Do I watch movies as often as I used to?
Not really. I mean, I don't turn them down, but I don't suggest them either.
What have I seen lately?
Hmmm...I saw "I am Legend". I wasn't that impressed. I saw all but the last 5 minutes of "One Missed Call" today. I hear that I missed nothing. Oh well. I took Cassidy to "Enchanted" in exchange for her help in cleaning my room. I thought it was really cute. Cassidy hated it because it "didn't make her laugh very hard."
